Mind Control for Beginners

A 90-minute recorded workshop to help you manage that pesky voice inside your head, so that you can live your life with presence, clarity and joy.

A woman in a black coat blowing confetti from her hands, representing joy and self-discovery.

I operate a sliding price scale. The Standard Price is the actual cost of the workshop.

The Pay It Forward Price is a few pounds above the actual cost of the workshop and that extra money goes towards supporting scholarships for those living solely on Universal Credit, as well as future free and low-cost classes.

If you’re living solely on Universal Credit, struggle to meet basic needs and paying for this workshop would be a significant hardship, please get in touch.

Do you ever find yourself ruminating about things that have already happened, or worrying about things that may (or may not) happen in the future?

Do you ever doubt your abilities? Lack confidence? Look around and wonder how everyone else has it together when you’re a hot mess?

Do these thoughts take you away from being fully present with your kids/partner/family/friends/yourself?

Do they make it hard for you to focus on what you’re doing?

Do they make you feel stressed, emotional or physically uncomfortable?

Let’s face it, your inner voice can often be a huge, gigantic arsehole.

(Make that, an unhinged, huge, gigantic arsehole.)

One that we, mysteriously, put up with for far longer than any of the other arseholes we encounter in our lives. We leave jobs because of toxic bosses, we break up with unsuitable partners, we cut off mean friends….but when our inner voice tells us we’re stupid/lazy/unloveable/doomed, we crack open a packet of chocolate digestives and say….”Please, tell me more!”

We can’t boot our inner voice out of our heads, but we can train it to be more kind. And when it falls back into its old ways, we can learn to tune it out.

Which:

  • Helps us to be present in the moment. Enjoy life, in real time! (as opposed to watching relentless videos of the past or dystopian horror movies about our future)

  • Clears our minds of nonsense, leading to better decisions, behaviours and actions

And that will:

  • Reduce our stress

  • Improve our relationships

  • Fill our lives with birdsong, hopping bunnies and candy rain*

     *Ok. Maybe not this one.

So, how do we live our lives without:

  • constantly questioning ourselves

  • catastrophising

  • falling into shame cycles about what we did/said/felt last week, or

  • generally being mean to ourselves?

First, we're going to delve into why we think the way we do - and what we can do about it. Then we’ll learn practical tools and strategies to help us take back control of that (let's face it, sometimes quite crazy) voice inside our head.

“Literally life changing! It’s so reassuring to know that I am completely normal. Mia’s attitude and approach is fantastic, practical, realistic and wonderfully applicable. If you get a chance to attend one of her workshops, grab it!”

You Will:

Mia Walker, a wellbeing coach, leaning against a brick wall wearing an electric blue top.

I’m a certified wellbeing coach, breathwork practitioner and human. The first two roles give me lots of tools to live a fulfilled and joyful life – the third role gives me a gigantic arsehole in my head which sometimes throws all the tools out of the toolbox and stamps on them, repeatedly, while yelling ‘IT’S ALL GOING TO GO HORRIBLY WRONGGGG!!!!” *Ahem*

The last couple of years in my life have been….let’s say, interesting. I’ve experienced bereavement, emergency surgery, blindness, divorce, and at one point realised that I’d run out of coffee on a bank holiday (I know, right?).  I’ve had to work incredibly hard to manage my inner voice, to keep myself out of depression, at ease with my challenges, healthy, happy and present with my 8-year-old son and the other important folks in my life.

I tried LOTS of things (some more successful than others) and I can now (most of the time) maintain a healthy relationship with my inner voice. It’s not an exaggeration to say that my experience of life completely changed, and I knew this was something I needed to pass on to you.

Coz when you and your inner voice are on good terms, you get to choose how you experience your life, no matter what’s happening around you.

If we haven’t met yet, I’m Mia.
